Melbourn and District u3a

So you've finished with work…

Melbourn & District u3a is for retired people who want to keep active in mind and body. Our u3a started in 1994 and now has 400 members mainly drawn from South Cambridgeshire and North Hertfordshire.

We have 30 groups - some go walking, do yoga, listen to music, paint, like to talk about airplanes (aviation history group) or talk about how the country ought to be (current affairs). Join us and you'll learn, play and meet other local retired (and semi-retired) people.

Our u3a is one of 1000 local u3a found in towns and villages across the UK. Overall that's 400,000 retired people dipping into pastimes, activities and learning.

We are run by our members, all of whom have left full time employment and happen to like doing things as a group. Members organise activities or manage meetings as one might in a club.

A small team look after membership, book speakers, make connections and help keep everyone in the loop. Like you they have a lifetime of experience and they use it to make good things happen here.

There is a small membership fee to cover some admin costs and we keep this small. As a registered charity we aim to encourage worthwhile affordable activity for local people.

To summarise - Melbourn & District u3a membership offers you

also

  • a large programme of online events and support from the u3a national body to which our local u3a belongs
