Melbourn and District u3a

All of our groups were created by someone with an interest that they wanted to share. So ... if you've idea for a group, our Groups Coordinator (below) would love to hear from you*. They can also advise on ideas for new groups or venues for meetings and answer any questions. They can also put out a call to hundreds of local retired people while ensuring your contact details stay safe - like the contact link below..

Subject to conditions our groups have some liability insurance cover. A few guidelines arise from our constitution and educational charity status: our groups are self-funding and non-profit; also everyone's contact data is kept as private as is agreeable.

These groups are in need of a leader to take them further:

excursions group: historically excursions have been our most popular u3a activity so you can expect an enthusiastic response to bringing this group out of mothballs! We have discussed adopting interesting trips eg to gardens or theatres run by a local coach tour company thereby reducing the need to fill a coach. This could be a springboard to our u3a hiring transport and choosing our own places to go. This group needs a leader.

cycling group: this group is in need of a leader. It needs someone to set cycle dates and circulate them. Members of the group already have cycle routes that they would recommend.
