February 2024: Our speaker this month was the lively Linda Scoles, an American who came to England in 1971 with her children and American Air Force husband. They settled into the village of Gt Barton, Suffolk. Ten years later, when he retired from USAF they elected to stay in the UK.
Linda’s talk ‘Journey to Citizenship’ covered their decision to take on dual nationality and what was involved in becoming a UK citizen. Seemingly every candidate has to take a test and it’s been the same test since 2005. Could you pass it? You would be surprised at what has to be learned to pass the UK citizen test.
