NHS: social prescribing You perhaps know people who visit their GP, but instead of drugs or medicine, could benefit more from friendship, learning and exercise. u3a organisations such as ours are recognised for the benefits that they bring to our age group. The term 'social prescribing' has been used meaning that our activities are a prescription of sorts. If you know of an individual who might benefit you might encourage them to get involved.
